Latest research proved plastics cause cancer. When you give plastic toys like ball, bat and dolls, kids can lick them and get cancer. Use cloth bags and say goodbye plastics!

| what is the best alternative to plastic | | i heard this on news that some store or grocery will use paperbags instead of plastic to protect our earth. well if we use paper bag (think it) how many trees will be use in making paperbags... i think we should use tote bag. just like i saw in some groceries here. they have campaign to use a tote bag and of course everytime u buy u will re use your tote bag. i think this is the best way to save our earth. how about you what is the best alternative to plastic or paper bag. | |

| is your town concerned with the environment? | | there's a new town ordinance here. all stores are prohibited to use plastic bags. every stuff the customers would buy should be placed in paper bags. unless the customers bring their own plastic bags, the stores would use brown paper bags to pack the stuffs their customers would buy.i was doing a little shopping this afternoon when i noticed that not one store have placed my bought items in a plastic bag. the first store i went to was a clothing store. i bought a tee-shirt and they put it in a paper bag. there wasn't anything unusual about it because they have been using paper bags ever since. i went to the drugstore and i was a little surprised because they put my vitamins in a small brown paper bag. before, they always use plastic. i bought a five-pack yogurt drink and two bags of chips and the attendant asked me if i wanted it placed in a box! the cashier and the attendant told me they are now prohibited to issue plastic bags and asked me instead if i just wanted my stuffs to be put in a paper bag. and i said yes. i'm actually thankful that our town is finally doing something to regulate the use of plastic bags here because there's just too many of them already. in our... | |
| | Plastic Bags or Paper Bags.....it is Tough.!!! | | Today we received a circular from our administrative office they have banned the use of plastic bags at all...all vegetable vendors and grocers have been asked to stop giving out plastic bags with immediate effects...i bought some apples and on my way home the paper bag tore and all the apples scattered on the road...i got drenched in the rain trying to pick them...plastic bags were so convenient to use...what do you use plastic bags or paper bags..Why? do you find paper bags convenient for carrying stuff? | |

| Do you still use plastic bags? | | I went shopping the other day and my eco friendly conscience told me that enough with plastic bags and I should set an example before others, right here, right now. So, I bought some beautiful cloth bags for carrying my stuffs. A few other enthusiast were there as well queued up for cloth bags. Feeling quite elated for doing something good, hoping to ask others to do the same, I rounded off my shopping abruptly. I wanted to come out a happy man, but at the clearance counter the security tucked my cloth bag into a plastic one endorsing the shopping mall!! Can you beat that! I felt like laughing but later on only could wonder at our lack of awareness! The consciousness is too little and too less. But, some one has to start some where.Please share your experience. | |
| | Green Tip of The Day | | I am very impressed with Abhishek's bachan's IDEA iniative to get new and innovative ways to save energy and trees in our own small way.My contribution is small but i make sure to follow through with our fail. I am a total no-plastic person, be it shopping for clothes or vegetables, i never take a plactic bag from the shop. I always carry a cute foldable cloth bag in my purse that can carry weight upto 5 kgs. If i don't have my bag then i end up carrying things in my hand if i have too, but never take plastics.So what is your green tip for saving and sharing? | |
